YOU ARE SO FULL OF YOURSELF.

Good morning my blog family, how have you been?
I've been good and away trying to gather some inspiration together here.
Today before me is a topic that looks like  you and I have a fight, I broadcasted it on our social media yesterday night:

'You are so full of yourself'.

In the course of finding meanings to the phrase above, I discovered virtually everyone in the world has defined 'being full of oneself' as being proud!!

Below are definitions/ meanings of 'being full of oneself' I came across:
1. An exaggerated sense of self worth, to the point you cannot see a thing beside yourself. [Urban Dictionary]
2. When a person thinks he is better/more important than he/she really is.
3. Thinking you are very important in a way that annoys other people. It is to be self absorbed.

I came to a conclusion from the various definitions that 'being full of oneself' can simply be defined as arrogance, ego or vain. It's just pride!!

An anonymous psychologist (Psychologist 2012 via word reference) defined 'being full of oneself' as this:
'Those that are accused of being full of oneself have often been cut down verbally in life and therefore have had there self esteem suffer as a result of attempt to build themselves up by boasting about their accomplishments as their desire is to boost their self esteem and gain acceptance because they were not accepted by their peers, friends or even members of their families earlier in life.'
This applies to most people 'who are full of their selves' and should not be confused with Narcissism which is entirely different.
Narcissism- an exceptional interest in and adoration for oneself.(wordweb)

At this point I want to introduce to you another dimension/ interpretation of 'being full of oneself' as the Holy spirit laid it on my heart.

- Being full of yourself is seeing yourself as the one actively involved in the running of your life.
I mean seeing yourself as the one who is to provide your needs, the one to get yourself that job, the one to bring about the actualization of your dreams and purpose in life. It is being filled with vain thoughts or preferably your thoughts, the one we call plans that you do not give God a place of His supremacy in your life yet we all exclaim God is yet to answer us.

-We are so full of ourselves that we do not give the Holyghost a platform to operate in our lives.
How do i mean?
We pray and ask for things we need but do not live like we have asked a thing from the Lord
You have asked God for admission but still live like an O' level student
You have asked God for a job but you still live like an unemployed
You have asked God for the Holyghost and power but you still keep feeding the flesh!

If you receive the Holy-spirit now, can He listen to those songs you listen to? Can He stay in you and abide with your company??

-Some of us even think they are smarter, we're so filled with ourselves that we ask for greater things and instead of waiting on Him, we deviate means of getting what we have asked for.
You know what i am talking about here:
You have prayed to God and asked for an admission but you are still searching for connections, You have asked God for a job but you are ready to jeopardize your faith to get a job- you're ready to sleep with recruiters for a job. Even some of us go as far as buying a job!
You want to acquire a property, you have asked God for it but you have started changing figures at your place of work to get a property! We are so full of ourselves, so full of vain!

-We have some of us that know how to ask but don't know how to receive. These ones are so full of full of their selves - they are full of excuses that they profess  the excuses than they confess what God can do/ is ready to do.
These ones are full of their background, Nationality, Financial incapability, Environment they grew, the level/type of job they do, the spouse they are married to, the fellowship/ church they attend.

You'll hear them profess all these: I couldn't gain admission because my parent were poor/uneducated, I could not get a job because of my grade, I have not a spouse because of my background, I am yet to get a visa because of my Nationality, I would have been great but the environment i grew in had it's turn on me, I am in this poor state because of the spouse i married,  My financial status hasn't permitted me to do exploits for God, I am doing this kind of job because of my background; I lack connections, The family I came out from is nothing, My life is just miserable because of the spouse i am married to/ relationship i found myself in, My spiritual life will have grown immensely if not for the fellowship/church i attend and many more....... an unlimited list of excuses.

If you look closely with me, you will discover these excuses and complaints are just part of us and only a few are reversible.

Why do you keep complaining and yet refuse to yield to the Holy spirit? Why are you so full of yourself that you refuse to yield?- I wrote an article on yield you can just go through:

Our Lives are vessels that must be filled up with something and we've got these options:
(a) The Spirit of the Lord
(b) Yourself
(c) Evil spirit.

Funny enough there's an evil spirit from the Lord. As in the case of Saul (II Samuel 16:14).

Psalms  89:6 For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?  89:7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.

Men are to be respected while God is to be feared and reverenced. The fear of the Lord in you is what fills you up that you have no space for self.
No wonder the scriptures says:

Proverbs  9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

The scriptures further said;
Hosea  4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Right here at CL Blogs we are trying our best to ensure none of us is destroyed.
I hope you can remember from older posts that we're all created good (Genesis 1:31), you are aware of us all in CL Blogs being in His image and Likeness and I believe you are aware we've all got Dominion and Power!!
Therefore, the only hindering factor to our advancement throughout our Life is not stepping aside for God to take His place

Isaiah  42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

If God is not ready to give His glory to another, then the blessings in His glory He'll not give also.
I am not talking about pride alone, I am talking about being full of oneself- everything that is not proper and working in our Lives.

Two more scripture here will guide you i believe:
Proverbs  23:7a- For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:
'You are what you think' because what you think is what you are full of'.
The truth is dear friend; The quality of your thoughts is the quality of your Life, and the energy used in thinking negatively is equal the energy consumed thinking positively.
Think right, life right!

Daniel  11:32b -but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
'Those that know their God', not those that know their selves, 'Those that are filled with Holyghost and Power' not those that are filled with their-selves.
I hope you can see how much of Havoc we've caused in our lives trying to help God do His things(we call Plans) in our lives. All those excuses are of the Lord! it's the earth and its fullness that is of the Lord(Psalm 24:1). The provisions for those promises in our lives are of the Lord and not ours to fulfill. Every time we come into the consciousness of this, we give the Holy-spirit a platform to work out miracles in our Lives.

Finally friends, Since you have been full of self; pride, vain, ego and all has your life improved? Have your calculations been able to help you get what you need?
Do well to step aside today for the Lord to have His way. No one helps the Lord!
Even Uzzah couldn't help avoid the fall of the ark of God (II Samuel 6:1-7).

I refuse to be full of self, how about you?
Remain blessed!
