WHAT SUCCESS IS NOT _ PART II

Success is not reaching a goal

Motivational speaker and Minister Bob Harrison says; “Setting goals is the most dangerous thing any person can do”

Why?

When you set goal in an area, you take attention away from all others.

Too often the woman who sets out to be a vice-president by age thirty-five is a divorcee by twenty-nine or a fellow who sets out to be a pop-star will make compromises that will plaque his spirit the rest of his life.

You may attain a goal but at the same time lose everything worth living for.

It is not that setting goals are evil, but they must be balance. You must realise that attaining one goal is only a small step toward achieving more important things.

When goals become gods, they become end in themselves.

Reaching a goal can destroy you by the temptation to stagnate and the illusion of accomplishment, if you don’t have a larger purpose beyond it.

Goals must be targets and not terminal destinations.

If success is not reaching a goal, then what is success?
Success is Life. It is a life that can be lived. It’s the life you are living or the life you have refused to live. The whole of your living/life defines success or the otherwise.

Life’s most important revelation is that the journey means more than the destination.

The world is not interested in the storms you encountered, but they want to know: did you bring the ship home safely?? Success is bringing the ship home safely.

Success is Life. If you believe you can succeed – or you believe you cannot – guess what?
You’re right!
Success is who you are.

A goal is minute to the whole of your life. Thus, success is attaining everything worth living for. Your life is important than any goal.

THE 7 DISPENSATIONS IN THE BIBLE

Dispensationalism is a method of interpreting history that divides God’s work and purposes toward mankind into different periods of time. Usually, there are seven dispensations identified, although some theologians believe there are nine. Others count as few as three or as many as thirty-seven dispensations.  In this article, we will limit ourselves to the seven basic dispensations found in scripture.

DID JOHN THE BAPTIST REALLY EAT INSECTS(LOCUST)?

His name was divinely given. It was to be “John” ( Luke 1:13 ), which derives from a Hebrew term signifying “Jehovah is gracious.” He was known familiarly as “ the Baptist ” (bearing no relation to the modern sect), which simply means “an immerser , one who administers the rite of immersion” ( Matthew. 3:1; 11:11; .. ). The Jewish historian Josephus even refers to John by this designation (Antiquities 18.5.2). The importance of John in the divine scheme of things probably is summed up best in the testimony of Jesus himself. “ Among them that are born of women there has not arisen a greater than John the Baptist ” ( Matthew 11:11 ). Luke does say of John: “ And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his showing unto Israel ” ( Luke 1:80 ).  This desert (or deserted) area “stretches from Jerusalem and Bethlehem eastward some 20 miles down to the Jordan River and th e Dead Sea.” It is “a barren region of rugged hills and valleys” (Earle, 30

SPRITUAL GIFTS

In Christianity, a spiritual gift or charism (plural: charisms or charismata ; in Greek singular: χάρισμα charisma , plural: χαρίσματα charismata ) is an endowment which is given by the Holy Spirit. These are the supernatural graces which individual Christians need (or needed in the days of the Apostles) to fulfill the mission of the Church. In the narrowest sense, it is a theological term for the extraordinary graces given to individual Christians for the good of others.
