ARE YOU TRUE TO YOUR CALLING? | Pastor E.A Adeboye

There are many people in ministry today who are going off track because they are operating in areas wherein they were not called.

Some out of personal ambition, are operating in callings that are not theirs while others are innocently operating in the wrong callings out of concern.

Having a burden about something or seeing a need does not automatically translate to a calling!

“And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.”                  2 Timothy 2:5 KJV

According to the above Bible verse, anyone who does things outside the will of the Master will be disqualified.

Everyone who God has called is scored by Him!

If what you are doing is outside God’s calling for your life, no matter how good you are in that calling or ministry, it is regarded as irrelevant.

Paul was greatly burdened by how the Jews were walking outside the will of God.

He kept preaching to them, yet they were persecuting him.

The greatest persecution he got were from the Jews because God was trying to point him in the direction of his calling- the Gentiles first, then to kings and then to the children of Israel (Acts 9:15).

Had he not been so persecuted by the Jews, he would not have been able to take the gospel to as many gentiles as he did.

Thank God that in Acts 18:5-6, he finally decided to leave the Jews and go to the gentiles to whom he was primarily sent.

God calls people for a reason and if everyone were to leave their calling to attend to someone else’s, there would be trouble. Imagine someone who is called to cause a great evangelical revival being so burdened about leadership in the nation that he distracts himself by contesting elections.

Imagine what would happen if the one who is to find the cure to incurable disease were to become burdened about the economy that he gets a job in the ministry of Finance.

You need to identify your calling through the guidance of the Holy Spirit and stay in it so as to fulfill your destiny and more importantly, for the world to be a better place.

THE 7 DISPENSATIONS IN THE BIBLE

Dispensationalism is a method of interpreting history that divides God’s work and purposes toward mankind into different periods of time. Usually, there are seven dispensations identified, although some theologians believe there are nine. Others count as few as three or as many as thirty-seven dispensations.  In this article, we will limit ourselves to the seven basic dispensations found in scripture.

THE SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD

CLF - The Journey 2 The 7 spirits of God are not some seven different spirits, but 7 prophetic manifestations of the Spirit of God. Time could not afford us talk deep on this subject matter yesterday, when by the Spirit the Prayer and Warfare team led us in some prayers and declaration. Below is a detailed article on the 7 spirits of God, and the aim of this piece of information is to educate the body of Christ and also enable you pray further in understanding.

DID JOHN THE BAPTIST REALLY EAT INSECTS(LOCUST)?

His name was divinely given. It was to be “John” ( Luke 1:13 ), which derives from a Hebrew term signifying “Jehovah is gracious.” He was known familiarly as “ the Baptist ” (bearing no relation to the modern sect), which simply means “an immerser , one who administers the rite of immersion” ( Matthew. 3:1; 11:11; .. ). The Jewish historian Josephus even refers to John by this designation (Antiquities 18.5.2). The importance of John in the divine scheme of things probably is summed up best in the testimony of Jesus himself. “ Among them that are born of women there has not arisen a greater than John the Baptist ” ( Matthew 11:11 ). Luke does say of John: “ And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his showing unto Israel ” ( Luke 1:80 ).  This desert (or deserted) area “stretches from Jerusalem and Bethlehem eastward some 20 miles down to the Jordan River and th e Dead Sea.” It is “a barren region of rugged hills and valleys” (Earle, 30

Lets move on; The Apostle Paul speaks of the variety of spiritual gifts : “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. . . . But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will” (I Corinthians 12:4–11).

THE MYSTERY OF HIS PRESENCE

Have you ever wondered why God will not honour the words of certain men and honour that of another? Have you ever thought about something  like this or experienced this: The Bible says ..... You shall lay your hands upon the sick and they will recover ( Mark 16:18b ). You laid your hands and instead of a recovery, you found a discovery – that the man is not healed and the sickness/disease has back-fired. This can be painful......  until a young man comes and at the sound of his voice, the infirmity flees. Has this ever bothered you? Or that a man speaks into existence instantly what you have been begging God for with fasting and prayers.   I bring you a mystery today!
